The Merchant’s Yard hopes to fill a much needed niche: a stylish Russian shop that offers high quality imported foods plus home-made dishes. As a deli, a grocery and a space for private dinner hire, it vows to bring the flavours of the “Russian feasts of old” and also to attract a broader non-Russian audience… However, it seems to be having difficulties finding the balance between a niche grocer serving homesick oligarchs and a bustling deli serving quality lunch grab.
