Food news by Carolyn Hart
WITH LOVE Confirmation that the Russians have now completely taken over Britain comes with the opening of a Russian deli and grocery in Knightsbridge. Serving home-cooked post-Soviet food to the bling-encrusted Wags and football club owners who reside in this part of the world, the Merchant’s Yard also caters for those Londoners who like, and can still afford, things like pirozhki (pastry filled with potato, egg, spring onions and cabbage) and raznosoly (pickled vegetables), as well as Moldovan and Georgian wines and tea brewed in a samovar.
